Electric Resistance Welding (ERW)

Electric Resistance Welding

Resistance welding (ERW) is a kind of welding in which two surfaces are welded by applying heat and pressure simultaneously. In this method, a continuous electric current is established in that area by pressing the two welding surfaces together. The high amount of electric current in the welding line due to electrical resistance causes the metal to melt in the joint and the welding line is well intertwined.

ERW welding machine

The high-frequency welding machine, manufactured by EFD Norway, is able to weld the prepared edges of the sheet longitudinally and continuously, without using an external object (electrode). This welding is electrical resistance type (ERW) and has the best quality.

What are the advantages of ERW?

  • High welding speed
  • Low fumes during welding
  • Easy automation
  • Economical and affordable
  • No need for filler materials
  • Low distortion
